UN: Israel Guilty of Crime Against Humanity in Gaza
A panel of United Nations experts, including former U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay, has issued a grave warning to the international community: Israel is committing war crimes and the crime against humanity of extermination in Gaza.Speaking before the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva, Pillay declared, “These attacks were part of a widespread and relentless assault against the Palestinian people in which Israeli forces have committed war crimes, including directing attacks against civilians and willful killing—and the crime against humanity of extermination. The goal of the Israeli government is abundantly clear: the destruction of life in Gaza.”
These statements from seasoned human rights authorities cannot be ignored. With thousands of civilians dead, Gaza’s infrastructure in ruins, and access to food, water, and medical care deliberately obstructed, the world must face the uncomfortable truth: what is happening in Gaza is not simply a tragedy—it is a crime of historic proportions.
It is time for global leaders, including the United States, to stop shielding Israel from accountability. Words of concern are not enough. The international community must act—through sanctions, arms embargoes, and legal accountability—to end this extermination before more innocent lives are lost.
