Your editorial Re ‘Maximum Pressure’ on Iran Has Failed” (editorial, April
10) is misguided.
The Obama administration and
members of the P5 crafted the nuclear
accord in 2015 which was broken by the Trump administration. Treaties are
painstakingly crafted to hold ALL parties to account. Iran showed good faith
and abided by the Accord. So why is Iran being punished? The real villain us
Donald Trump who ran foreign affairs much like his failed businesses and showed
poor faith withdrawing from the Accord on a whim.
It is outrageous that Iran is
suffering economic sanctions and economic pain because of Trump’s erratic
behavior.. Furthermore, the IAEA conducted frequent tests to ensure Iran was in
full compliance. It is also time the US severely admonish Israel for its
terrorist cavities killing Iranian scientists and blowing up their underground
nuclear facilitie. As an initial measure we should send Israel a strong message
by halting all economic and military support. Finally, the US and the UK should offer
unconditional apologies to Iran and grant them massive reparations for stealing
their oil in CIA/MI6 covert operation in 1953 and overthrowing their democracy.
The CIA-MI6, the Mossad and other intelligence agencies are a great threat to
world peace and should be disbanded.
