U.S. Bombs, Ethiopian Victims, Deafening Silence
The report “They Fled War in Ethiopia. Then American Bombs Found Them” (July 13) reveals a haunting tragedy: Ethiopian migrants, seeking refuge from war, were killed and maimed in Yemen by U.S.-made bombs. Trapped in a detention center, they had no escape as explosions crushed bodies and tore limbs. There has been no accountability from Washington. This was not a battlefield—these were desperate civilians. Supplying weapons used in such atrocities makes the U.S. complicit in grave human rights violations.
This incident isn’t isolated. Yemeni civilians continue to die in strikes carried out with American support. Where is the outrage?
If we claim to stand for human rights, the U.S. must halt arms sales to violators and investigate this bombing. Silence only deepens the injustice.
