Revoke NRA’s non-profit status 5-3-2018

3, May 2018                            Revoke NRA’s non-profit status

It is bewildering to comprehend why the NRA with annual revenues of $335,000,000  which is clearly designed to advance the interests of manufacturers of guns and ammunition and lobbies aggressively to promote its corporate interests, is tax exempt.
Since their incorporation in 1975, they registered as a tax-exempt 501c(3) exempting them from paying any taxes.
Serving as a profit-generating marketing entity for the gun industry isn’t the NRA’s only fraudulent activity. They also violate federal tax code by aggressively diverting some of their profits to legislative candidates who support their corporate goals and oppose candidates who oppose their actions in clear violation of  501(c)3 which states “corporations may not attempt to influence legislation as a substantial part of its activities and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates.”

It is time for the IRS to revoke the NRA’s tax exempt status and demand they reimburse the US Treasury for all unpaid back taxes since 1975.
