Punishing Truth-Tellers Cannot Hide the Killing of Gaza’s Civilians - 10.14.2026

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s attempt to identify and prosecute Israeli soldiers who testified in the investigative documentary NAZA is an alarming assault on truth, accountability, and press freedom. Threatening filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor with the loss of their citizenship is equally outrageous.

The world must ask why a government would target those exposing alleged mass killings of Palestinian civilians rather than investigate the evidence they present. Reports that the Israeli military relaxed its targeting rules after October 7, 2023, raise profoundly disturbing questions. The bombing of the densely populated Jabaliya refugee camp with 2,000-pound U.S.-supplied bombs to kill one Hamas commander reportedly killed and injured hundreds. No military objective can erase the obligation to protect civilians.

The United States cannot escape responsibility while supplying weapons used in such devastating attacks. Congress and the administration must demand independent investigations, suspend arms transfers that risk facilitating violations of international humanitarian law, and insist on accountability for those responsible.

Journalists and witnesses must be protected, not intimidated. Netanyahu cannot silence the truth by threatening those who reveal it. The world deserves answers, victims deserve justice, and Palestinian lives must count as much as any other human lives.
