Botched Execution, Ban All Executions - 10.2.2026

Christa Pike’s botched execution in Tennessee is a horrifying reminder of the cruelty and danger of state executions.

Pike had already endured profound trauma. She was brutally raped when she was just 18 years old. Whatever happened afterward, that history of violence and suffering should make us ask whether the answer to human violence should ever be another deliberate act of killing by the state.

Her execution attempt reportedly involved repeated difficulties establishing an IV, followed by serious complications that left her critically ill.

No government should have the power to turn punishment into prolonged suffering.

The death penalty is irreversible. When an execution becomes botched, there is no way to undo the harm.

Christa Pike’s suffering should not be forgotten.

Ban All Executions. Abolish The Death Penalty. Let Justice Never Become Torture.

Botched Execution, Ban All Executions

Christa Pike endured brutal rape at 18. Her botched execution shows why state killing must end. Ban all executions. Abolish the death penalty.
