Sanders has strongly supported accountability for Benjamin Netanyahu. In November 2024, after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu, Sanders said, “I agree with the decisions of the ICC.” He specifically cited the ICC charges involving the alleged use of starvation as a method of warfare and attacks against civilians.
Sanders has repeatedly described Netanyahu as a war criminal and has argued that international law must apply equally to everyone, including democratically elected leaders.
This is an important principle: no government or leader should be above international law.
The suffering of innocent Palestinians must not be ignored, and alleged war crimes must be investigated and prosecuted through lawful international institutions.
America should stand for one standard of justice: no government or leader is above the law.
