Bill McKibben’s Warning Should Be Taken Seriously: Citizens Cannot Afford To Treat Politics As Something Distant Or Unimportant. Political Decisions Shape The Laws, Priorities And Investments That Determine How We Respond To The Climate Crisis.
The Climate Crisis Is Not Waiting For Political Arguments To End. Every Year Of Delay Can Make The Challenge More Difficult And More Costly. Yet Politics Also Provides The Democratic Means To Demand Action, Protect Communities And Hold Leaders Accountable.
This Is Why Democracy Matters So Deeply. Silence And Apathy Leave Decisions To Others. An Informed And Engaged Public Can Demand That Climate, Science And The Future Of Our Children Receive The Attention They Deserve.
The Midterms Are Therefore About More Than Candidates And Campaigns. They Are About Whether Citizens Will Participate In Decisions That Can Shape The Future Of The Nation And The Planet.
As Bill McKibben Reminds Us, Politics Is Desperately Important. We Must Not Look Away When The Future Is At Stake.
