The upcoming Israeli election must be a referendum on Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership, his failures on October 7, and his continued pursuit of power.
Reports of advance warnings before the Hamas attack demand an independent investigation. If Netanyahu received credible warnings and failed to act, Israelis deserve the truth. No leader should escape accountability for security failures that cost innocent lives.
Donald Trump’s endorsement of Netanyahu is deeply troubling. Instead of demanding transparency, accountability, and an end to policies that endanger civilians, Trump is lending political support to a deeply controversial leader.
Joe Biden also betrayed the hopes of many Americans by continuing military and diplomatic support for Netanyahu’s government despite mounting civilian suffering in Gaza. His administration had leverage to demand greater restraint but failed to use it adequately.
The influence of AIPAC and pro-israel lobbying deserves serious public scrutiny. American foreign policy must serve democratic values and human rights, not powerful political interests.
Israeli voters must demand honest leadership, an independent investigation, and equal rights and security for Israelis and Palestinians. Democracy cannot survive when political ambition takes precedence over human life.
