“Netanyahu Says Israel and Hamas Are on the Brink of a Hostage Deal,” scream the headlines — another example of corporate media bias drowning out the horrific reality in Gaza and the West Bank. On one widely watched news show, a guest even denied the existence of genocide and settler terrorism, as if the starvation and agony of Palestinians — mostly children — were fiction.
Prime Minister Netanyahu offers no credible explanation for halting food and medical aid, which now rots at the border while civilians perish. As a great spiritual teacher, Nanak, once said, “God is truth, but living the truth is higher.” Netanyahu has hijacked truth itself, deceiving the Israeli public to conceal his crimes and corruption. The ongoing genocide, starvation, and bombings of hospitals, schools, and homes have been largely hidden or sanitized by the Israeli, U.S. and European media, whose remorseful words are contradicted by their governments’ steady flow of weapons to Israel. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Inside Gaza, emaciated survivors — many amputees — wander in search of food. The few remaining doctors and nurses, refusing to abandon their people, stand as humble saints amid this man-made hell. Foreign journalists are denied access, while those who dare to report have been killed by Israeli forces — because truth is what Netanyahu and his far-right allies fear most.
Yet, hope flickers as more nations recognize the right of Palestinians to statehood and freedom from decades of domination. The guilty include not only Israel but also the U.S., U.K., Germany, France, and Arab regimes whose silence betrays the growing anger of their people.
