$5,000 reward & lie like hell DJT - 9.12.2026

A $5,000 PROMISE AND THE MEANING OF TRUTH

President DONALD TRUMP has urged Republicans to fight hard to retain control of the House and Senate and has

a $5,000 “dividend” to every adult citizen if Republicans win both chambers of Congress. The proposal could cost more than $1 trillion and would require congressional approval.

This raises a profound ethical question: Should a financial promise be linked to the outcome of an election?

Former MAGA supporters and others have expressed concern about the political and ethical implications of such a promise. Whatever one’s political affiliation, American democracy should not be reduced to a transaction in which voters are encouraged to associate a personal financial benefit with the success of a particular political party.

There is also a deeper moral question. President TRUMP frequently speaks of his reverence for JESUS. For SIKHS, GOD is TRUTH—the highest spiritual reality. That principle raises a simple question for every voter:

Should we make political choices because of financial promises, or because we believe our leaders are truthful, honest and acting in the public interest?

The proposed $5,000 payment also raises important questions about its cost, funding and long-term effect on the nation’s finances. Congress, not the President alone, controls federal spending.

American democracy depends upon voters being free to exercise their conscience and make informed choices. Political leadership should be judged by truth, integrity and responsibility—not by promises of personal financial rewards.
