Israel’s bombing of Gaza continues to destroy not only Homes but the basic necessities of Life. Reports that an Israeli strike hit a Water Desalination Plant, a Mosque and Tents, killing seven people, including Children, should shock the Conscience of the World.
The Jewish People lost millions of Children and other innocent Lives in the Holocaust. It is therefore especially painful to see such profound insensitivity toward the suffering of Palestinian Children and Families today. Remembering the Holocaust should strengthen our commitment to protecting every innocent Human Life, regardless of Faith or Nationality.
People of Faith build Mosques, Churches, Synagogues and Temples to honor and glorify our common Creator. Destroying Houses of Worship is not merely an attack on Buildings; it is an insult to the sacred Values that unite Humanity.
Water is essential for Survival. Destroying a Desalination Facility where Civilians already face severe shortages makes an unbearable Humanitarian Crisis even worse. Attacking Places of Worship and Tents sheltering displaced Families compounds their suffering.
The deaths of Children must never become Statistics. The United States and the International Community must demand Protection for Civilians, respect for Houses of Worship and Accountability for those responsible.
We must reject Hatred and Dehumanization wherever they occur. The Lives of Palestinian Children are no less precious than the Lives of Jewish, Christian or any other Children.
