The movement reflects broader concerns about concentrated political power and shrinking space for dissent. Arundhati Roy warns that when wealth, media, and political authority become concentrated in too few hands, democracy itself is endangered.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, formerly Chief Minister of Gujarat during the 2002 communal violence, was denied a U.S. visa for many years because of concerns related to those events. A healthy democracy depends not only on free speech but also on moral responsibility. We owe future generations better examples than those who turn cruelty into entertainment and exploitation into a business model. 

Holocaust scholar speaks out against horrific genocide - 7.23.2026

As New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani calls on President Donald Trump to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, the world must confront a painful question: Why does impunity continue despite mounting evidence and international concern over Israel's conduct in Gaza?

When a respected Holocaust and genocide scholar warns that a horrific genocide continues be unfolding, the warning should not be dismissed because it is politically inconvenient. The lessons of history demand that credible allegations of genocide and war crimes be investigated impartially, regardless of the nation or leader involved.

If Benjamin Netanyahu, who faces allegations of war crimes, enters the United States, the federal government should fulfill any applicable legal obligations and ensure that no one is above the law. International justice has meaning only if it is applied consistently, without fear or political favoritism.

History will judge not only those who commit atrocities, but also those who remain silent. Accountability, justice, and the protection of innocent civilians must come before politics. Selective justice is not justice at all.

Enough Is Enough - 7.23.2026

Britain, it is time to acknowledge a historic mistake. The region has known since the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and especially the 1948 Nakba, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced, that lasting peace cannot be built by denying an entire people their homeland. During the 1947–48 conflict, Zionist paramilitary groups including Irgun, Lehi (Stern Gang) and the Haganah were involved in military operations and attacks that remain the subject of intense historical debate.

Today, many around the world believe that decades of occupation, displacement and bloodshed have made clear that the status quo is unsustainable. The continued flow of military support from the United States and European countries has drawn growing criticism from those who argue it has failed to advance a just and lasting peace.

The only viable path forward is to uphold international law and support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank, living alongside Israel in peace and security. Justice, equal rights and self-determination for both peoples remain essential if this tragic conflict is ever to end.

Demand the Immediate Release of Dr. Ahmed Abu Safiya - 7.22.2026

The continued detention of Dr. Ahmed Abu Safiya is deeply troubling. Physicians have a duty to save lives, regardless of nationality, religion, or politics. Medical professionals should never be punished simply for carrying out their humanitarian responsibilities.

Justice and human dignity require that medical workers be allowed to provide care without fear of detention or persecution.

No More Money for Illegal Wars - 7.22.2026

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's reported request for an additional $67 billion to expand military operations against Iran is deeply disturbing. After decades of costly wars that have claimed countless lives and drained trillions of taxpayer dollars, the answer is not more bombs.

If military action violates international law, taxpayers should not be forced to finance it. The United States should be investing in diplomacy, humanitarian aid, education, health care, and rebuilding our own communities—not expanding another destructive conflict.

Our government, together with Israel, faces serious allegations of violations of international humanitarian law. Continuing to fuel war instead of pursuing peace risks creating even deeper resentment and instability for generations to come.

Congress should reject this funding request and insist on diplomacy, accountability, and an immediate commitment to peace. America needs fewer wars—not another blank check for endless conflict.

Israel’s killing machine murders another family - 7.22.2026

The greatest gift God bestows on humankind is the birth of a child. The greatest sin is the murder of a child. That moral truth should transcend politics, nationality, and religion.

The reported Israeli drone strike that killed a family of six in Gaza City is another heartbreaking reminder of the immense human cost of this war. Every innocent civilian death, especially the death of children, is a profound tragedy that should shock the conscience of the world.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israel Defense Forces have faced widespread international criticism over the scale of civilian casualties in Gaza. The United States and European governments, as close allies of Israel, also face continuing questions about their political, military, and diplomatic support and their responsibility to press for greater protection of civilians.

History will judge not only those who pull the trigger, but also those who remain silent in the face of immense human suffering. Every child's life has equal value. The world must demand accountability, an immediate end to the killing of innocent civilians, and a just and lasting peace.

The Middle East in on fire: One Man Can End This War - 7.21.2026

The Middle East is on fire. Each new escalation brings more death, destruction and instability to an already devastated region. Now Yemen's Houthis have declared a naval blockade of Saudi Arabia, opening yet another dangerous front, while the United States has bombed Iran for a tenth consecutive night.

Wars have a way of expanding beyond anyone's control. Every new attack increases the risk of a wider regional conflict that could draw in more nations and inflict even greater suffering on civilians.

One man helped set this dangerous course in motion, and that same man has the power to change it. President Donald Trump should immediately halt further military escalation, pursue an urgent ceasefire and return to diplomacy. Real leadership is measured not by the ability to wage war, but by the courage to prevent it.

The people of the Middle East—and the world—deserve peace, not another endless war.

Burn, baby, burn! The world is on fire. 

Nearly 1,000 wildfires continue to burn across Canada, yet President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Mark Carney continue doubling down on fossil fuels instead of accelerating the transition to clean energy.

"Burn, baby, burn" is no longer a slogan—it is becoming a grim description of our planet. Record-breaking wildfires, deadly heat waves, floods, and droughts are warning us that the climate crisis is no longer a distant threat. It is here.

Political leaders who continue expanding fossil fuel production while ignoring scientific warnings are gambling with the future of our children and grandchildren. Every new oil or gas project locks us into greater climate instability and higher economic and human costs.

Canada and the United States should be leading the world toward renewable energy, conservation, and climate resilience—not fueling a crisis that is already devastating communities across North America.

The time for half-measures has passed. The planet is burning. Our leaders must act before today's warnings become tomorrow's irreversible catastrophe.

The West Must Acknowledge The Legacy Of Intervention In Iran - 7.20.2026

In 1951, Iranian Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh nationalized the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, seeking to return control of Iran’s oil resources to the Iranian people. Britain, under Prime Minister WINSTON CHURCHILL, responded with economic pressure, while the United States and Britain later supported Operation Ajax, the 1953 CIA-MI6 covert operation that removed Mosaddegh’s democratically elected government.

The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company later became BP, one of the world’s largest energy companies. Decades of foreign intervention, sanctions, and military threats have contributed to deep resentment and instability in the region.

History does not justify attacks on civilians or violations of international law by any government. However, lasting peace requires honesty about past actions. The United States and United Kingdom should acknowledge the consequences of their policies, support diplomacy over war, and help repair the damage caused by decades of confrontation.

War cannot erase history. Only accountability, dialogue, and respect for national sovereignty can build a more peaceful future. good start would be for the U.S. and Britain to pay massive reparations for the theft of Iran's oil and the destruction of its democracy.

Israeli IDF and Settler Terrorists Continue Killing Civilians; Americans Are Outraged - 7.20.2026

The murder continues, fully funded by the $3.4 billion in annual U.S. aid paid for by American taxpayers. Many Americans—Democrats, Republicans, MAGA supporters, independents, and others—are outraged that their tax dollars are used to support policies that result in the deaths of civilians.

The reported storming of a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank by dozens of settler terrorists another reminder that the violence has not ended. Civilians deserve protection, accountability, and justice regardless of nationality.

Congress must stop treating military aid as unconditional. U.S. policy should promote human rights, international law, and diplomacy—not policies that prolong bloodshed. Americans should demand that taxpayer dollars no longer fund actions that deepen suffering and fuel endless conflict.

World soccer and the boy with no arms and legs - 7.19.2026

The image shown on PBS NewsHour of a very young Palestinian boy with no arms or legs struggling to bounce a small soccer ball is one that should haunt the conscience of the world. No child should endure such unimaginable suffering.

If the United States has the ability to save this child, he should be flown here immediately to receive the finest medical care and be fitted with advanced prosthetic limbs. Reports describing his desperate living conditions and the lack of adequate medical care demand an urgent humanitarian response.

Many Americans are also questioning continued U.S. military assistance to Israel and are calling for an immediate suspension of U.S. weapons transfers. At the same time, every possible measure should be taken to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza from ongoing attacks. Palestinians held without charge should receive due process or be released, consistent with international legal standards. Reports have also described severe food shortages and deteriorating sanitation, with growing concerns about rodents and other public health hazards affecting children.

The international community must work to protect civilians, ensure unrestricted humanitarian access, and secure the release of medical personnel held without due process. Palestinian families deserve safety, dignity, and hope—not endless war, displacement, and fear.

The suffering of innocent children should unite humanity. The violence must end, civilians must be protected, and a lasting peace founded on justice, accountability, and respect for human rights must become the world's highest priority.

Free Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Severely Tortured in an Israeli Prison - 7.17.2026

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya Deserves Justice, Not Indefinite Detention

The reported treatment of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya—a physician who remained at his post in Gaza caring for the sick and wounded under unimaginable conditions—should outrage the conscience of humanity. Reports that he has been detained without charge and subjected to severe abuse, including allegations that he was beaten, demand an immediate, independent international investigation. If these reports are substantiated, those responsible must be held fully accountable under international law.

This is about far more than one courageous doctor. Human rights organizations have documented the detention of many Palestinians without formal charges or trial under administrative detention, raising profound concerns about due process, the rule of law, and basic human rights. Reports of violence and intimidation in the occupied West Bank, including incidents involving armed settlers confronting journalists, humanitarian workers, and public officials, underscore an urgent need for accountability and stronger protection of civilians.

History delivers a timeless warning. The Holocaust revealed the catastrophic consequences of hatred, dehumanization, and the world's failure to act. That solemn lesson must strengthen our resolve to confront injustice wherever it occurs and regardless of who commits it. The memory of past atrocities should inspire universal defense of human dignity—not be invoked to excuse violations of international humanitarian law.

The United States, Europe, and the broader international community must act with urgency. They should press for Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya's immediate release unless he is promptly charged with a recognizable criminal offense and afforded a fair trial consistent with international standards. They should demand independent humanitarian access to detainees, protection for medical personnel, and credible investigations into allegations of abuse. Silence in the face of credible reports of injustice only deepens human suffering. Every life has equal worth. Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya deserves justice—not indefinite detention. The world must not look away. 

Trump's election integrity speech raises concerns - 7.17.2026

President TRUMP's latest speech on "election integrity" offered no credible evidence of widespread voter fraud or election interference. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. If elections were truly being decided by large numbers of deceased voters, it would be a sensation worthy of front-page headlines, with the dead literally climbing out of their graves to cast ballots. No such evidence exists.

What is far more concerning is the repeated use of unsupported allegations that can undermine public confidence in elections and discourage eligible citizens from voting. Americans deserve elections that are secure, transparent, and trusted, but trust is built on facts, not fear.

The United States has a long history of attempting to influence political outcomes abroad through covert operations, financial support, and diplomatic pressure. That historical record is well documented. It is therefore ironic to make sweeping accusations about election interference at home without presenting verifiable evidence.

Protecting democracy means safeguarding every eligible citizen's right to vote without intimidation. "Save America" should never become a slogan used to cast doubt on legitimate elections or discourage voter participation. Our democracy is strongest when every lawful vote is counted. 

Jayapal, no to Todd Blanche for AG - 7.17.2026

Todd Blanche's record raises serious questions about whether he is fit to serve as Attorney General. Representative Pramila Jayapal argues that his actions regarding the Epstein files and matters involving President Donald Trump, including allegations surrounding a $1.8 billion slush fund, undermine public confidence in the impartial administration of justice.

The Attorney General's foremost duty is to uphold the law without fear or favor. Americans deserve complete transparency, equal justice, and accountability regardless of wealth, political influence, or public office. Any appearance that political allies receive special treatment weakens confidence in our legal system and damages the rule of law.

Congress should conduct thorough oversight wherever credible concerns exist, and the Department of Justice must remain independent of partisan interests. Public trust depends on fair investigations, full disclosure of relevant facts, and equal application of the law. Our democracy is strongest when justice is administered impartially and no one is above the law. 

Forever wars in the Middle East - 7.16.2026

The Trump administration's approach toward Iran has, strengthened rather than weakened opposition to the United States. Many Iranians remember a long history of Western intervention, beginning with the 1953 coup against Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh after the nationalization of Iran's oil industry, followed by decades of support for the Shah's authoritarian rule before the 1979 revolution. Acknowledging this history is essential if lasting peace is ever to be achieved.

Instead of learning from past mistakes, the United States continues to rely on threats, sanctions, and military force. Meanwhile, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to worsen, with reports of civilians, including children, being killed and settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank continuing. These developments deserve serious international scrutiny and renewed efforts to protect civilian lives and uphold international law.

Encouragingly, an increasing number of Members of Congress are questioning continued military assistance to Israel. Diplomacy, accountability, and respect for human rights—not endless conflict—offer the only path toward a just and lasting peace.

The Cost of Silence: Justice for Mothers and Children Separated by the Church - 7.16.2026

The Catholic Church’s past involvement in taking babies born out of wedlock from their mothers raises serious questions about power, accountability, and the protection of vulnerable families. Reports featured in the first segment of the latest 60 Minutes CBS program examined cases where unmarried mothers were separated from their children and adoption systems benefited financially while families suffered profound loss.

No institution, regardless of its religious standing, should be above scrutiny. Every child deserves dignity, and every parent deserves honesty, compassion, and due process. If abuses occurred, they must be fully investigated, victims must be heard, and those responsible must be held accountable.

Faith communities can provide great compassion and service, but trust is built through transparency, humility, and respect for human rights. The painful stories of mothers and children separated by past practices should remind us that protecting families must always come before institutional reputation or financial interests.

Israeli settler terrorists attack U.S. Journalists - 7.15.2026

The attack on a convoy of journalists by Israeli settlers, with the support or protection of some IDF soldiers, along with the unresolved killing of the father of a Palestinian American one year ago, demands a full and independent investigation. Violence against journalists, civilians, and human rights defenders cannot be tolerated. Those responsible — whether settlers or members of the IDF — must face justice.

Across America, growing numbers of people are demanding accountability and an end to impunity. If the United States is unwilling to confront settler violence and protect human rights, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee should be recalled. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must accept responsibility for policies that have enabled continued suffering, violence, and the erosion of the rule of law, and he should resign.

The United States must end unconditional political and military support that enables violations of human rights. When journalists, civilians, or American citizens can be attacked without consequences, it represents a dangerous failure of accountability.

Israeli settlers and any individuals, including members of the IDF, who are found responsible for crimes must be investigated and prosecuted. Justice must apply equally to all. The world needs leaders who defend human dignity, international law, and peace — not impunity.

Rubio Serving as De Facto Viceroy of Venezuela - 7.14.2026

Why are we compounding the wrongs committed in Venezuela by taking actions that many see as depriving its people of their national wealth? If the United States truly supports democracy, sovereignty, and the rule of law, it should pursue those principles consistently.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is serving as the de facto "viceroy" of Venezuela. Whether one agrees with that characterization or not, it raises troubling questions about U.S. policy toward another sovereign nation. Long-standing sanctions, economic pressure, and disputes over Venezuelan assets have imposed significant hardship while doing little to resolve the country's political crisis.

America should be guided by diplomacy, respect for international law, and the self-determination of nations—not policies that deepen suffering or fuel resentment. Lasting peace and stability come through dialogue and cooperation, not coercion.

It is time to replace confrontation with constructive engagement and respect for Venezuela's sovereignty.
